We can’t talk about Cliff Norman without talking about his father, L.E. Norman, who founded Norman Construction in 1971. L.E. was a builder. He was an entrepreneur determined to work for himself. L.E. taught Cliff the value of hard work by enlisting him in various summer building projects. Those summer days were long, and when Cliff graduated high school, he left Hattiesburg to attend Mississippi State, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in both construction technology and business management. Cliff then went to work for Milliken Textiles, but he returned to Norman Construction when his father asked him to. “I loved my dad, so I had to come back,” Cliff said. “It was the best decision I ever made.”

Cliff Norman believes in the power of restoration and creation, and, for the past four decades, he has dedicated his life’s work to helping families make their house plans into home places. Cliff decided to follow in L.E. Norman’s footsteps and help carry Norman Construction into the new millennium. “At Norman Construction, we love doing the restoration and residential projects that other firms don’t want to fool with,” Cliff said. “We love bringing residential spaces to life—not just building, but creating.” Since 1971, Norman Construction has distinguished itself from other builders by taking uncommon care with its employees and clients; at Norman, creating homes is a family affair. “We have long-term relationships with our employees and subcontractors. Some of them have been with us for 30 or 40 years. Some of them, like Roger Ford, have been here longer than I have. Many of our clients have entrusted us with multiple projects over the years,” As Norman continues to craft its legacy in the Hattiesburg area and beyond, Cliff and his team are eager to see what the future holds. “I’ve been working for Norman Construction since 1977,” Cliff said, “Even though my dad isn’t here to see what we’ve built, I still know in my heart he’s proud of the work we’re doing.”
